Workers who are members of the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Union (FSPMI) and other unions will do a demo as well as a nationwide strike on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, to voice their basic demands, namely to remove the system and contract labor as well as removing politics oustsourcing low wages.
Said Iqbal, President of the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Union (FSPMI), said it was reluctant to reveal the details of the national strike plan.
"We do not know what will happen in the field and the effect when a national strike was held," he said, Monday (01/10/2012).
He said the action plan that involves more than 2 million workers in Indonesia. Nevertheless, in principle, it had instructed all national strike that protesters were not anarchists and riot.
"The strike is a struggle of national clean, pure, sustainable, and to repair the nation and the state," he said. (Msb)
